Michael Cushner

Welcome to my faculty website.  I will post documents that will be used in the courses that I teach as well as relevant and interesting information from time to time.  I am a new psychology instructor at IVC and I am very excited to be a member of the faculty.  I have a real passion for psychology because the field encompasses such a wide variety of perspectives.  In addition, it is hard not to be interested the "science of behavior and mental processes" because it helps me to understand my behaviors better (yes, I am still working on it) -- and, of course, it keeps me curious about why other people do the things that they do!  This photo of me was taken on the Heavenly Valley Gondola at Lake Tahoe during July of 2011 - I will try to add a more "business appropriate" photo in the new future.  If you see me on campus, please feel free to stop me and say "hello" as I am always interested in meeting the students on campus.

F Section (10542)

Module on Consciousness

The following presentation files contain the information on consciousness that would have been presented in class if not for the day after Thanksgiving Holiday.  You will be responsible for this material for Exam 4.  My best suggestion would be to play the presentation and take notes just as if you were in class. There is a verbal narration for each presentation - the narration is not perfect in terms of quality, but it should be adequate for you to understand the material.  If you need to pause a presentation, you can press the "S" key; to resume the presentation press the "S" key again (the presentation will resume at the beginning of the slide).  If you have any problems using the presentation files, please let me know.  If you have any questions on the material, please send me an email and I will respond as quickly as I can.
